Persephone's relationship with Hades has gone public and the resulting media storm disrupts her normal life and threatens to expose her as the Goddess of Spring。

Hades, God of the Dead, is burdened by a hellish past that everyone's eager to expose in an effort to warn Persephone away。

Things only get worse when a horrible tragedy leaves Persephone's heart in ruin and Hades refusing to help。 Desperate, she takes matters into her own hands, striking bargains with severe consequences。

Faced with a side of Hades she never knew and crushing loss, Persephone wonders if she can truly become Hades' queen。

2。5 - Persephone is very aggravating and there was a lot of unnecessary conflict。

‘Are you well?’Ugh, Hades。 What a man。 What a god damn。 I loved that there was more of him in this book and that we got a glimpse into his long history。 But still I want more! One of my favourite things in this book was how furious he would be and how easily Persephone could get away with her crap 😂 we get to see the development of their relationship and how difficult Persephone can be。 God that woman is such a trouble maker Will I be reading the third? Yes!

I didn't finish it。 Sometimes you want to read a romance that doesn't need plot, but an insufferable main character will ruin it。 I wish we expected more from these books。 If you want all the fun of of the romance, but a more fun plot where the characters actually grow as characters, go read Sarah J。 Mass。 I didn't finish it。 Sometimes you want to read a romance that doesn't need plot, but an insufferable main character will ruin it。 I wish we expected more from these books。 If you want all the fun of of the romance, but a more fun plot where the characters actually grow as characters, go read Sarah J。 Mass。 。。。more

Not sure why my last review didn't save so here's my bullet points on why this book was really disappointing:- Persephone had a total attitude change from the first book; she was paranoid, selfish, rude, and incredibly judgmental。 I understand she's going through a lot, but so is everyone else, and the danger she puts herself in puts others in danger too。 That's a HUGE turnoff for me, personally。 Especially when it's so consistent。- There was too much sex。 It felt like filler。 It's all very angr Not sure why my last review didn't save so here's my bullet points on why this book was really disappointing:- Persephone had a total attitude change from the first book; she was paranoid, selfish, rude, and incredibly judgmental。 I understand she's going through a lot, but so is everyone else, and the danger she puts herself in puts others in danger too。 That's a HUGE turnoff for me, personally。 Especially when it's so consistent。- There was too much sex。 It felt like filler。 It's all very angry make up sex because P keeps being so ridiculous, too, so it started to feel super repetitive and boring。 - What happened with Lexa。 Like what the heck??? That's NOT the P we met in the preceding book。 I understand grief can change people but this was another example of P being vastly different than she was in the first book。 To tie this up I'm really disappointed。 I loved the first book and this left me especially frustrated as I'd hoped P would continue to grow and heal and that didn't exist til the last few chapters here。 I won't be continuing the series。 。。。more

DNFI’m so sad。 I enjoyed the first book。 But I’m sorry this one just kinda sucked。 When I finished book #1 I ran out to get the others。I had high hopes that it would get even better。 But I couldn’t even get through book #2。 Honestly the series should have been a standalone。 I got through about 1/3 of a Touch of Ruin before I said enough。 Every time I picked it up to read I felt board。 It was like I was reading a book full of filler chapter, it was as if we were never going to get to the plot。 I DNFI’m so sad。 I enjoyed the first book。 But I’m sorry this one just kinda sucked。 When I finished book #1 I ran out to get the others。I had high hopes that it would get even better。 But I couldn’t even get through book #2。 Honestly the series should have been a standalone。 I got through about 1/3 of a Touch of Ruin before I said enough。 Every time I picked it up to read I felt board。 It was like I was reading a book full of filler chapter, it was as if we were never going to get to the plot。 I couldn’t even see where it was going。 I hate DNF-ing books。 Manly because now all those pages I read don’t get added to me yearly Goodreads page count🙃 But if you aren’t enjoying what you’re reading, why force yourself to finish it? Especially when you have a TBR list a mile long😂 。。。more

Did really enjoy this book but as usual everything just wrapped up too quickly and unrealistically…

I was so excited to read this following A Touch Of Darkness and I was NOT disappointed!! So many unexpected twists and turns leaving me shocked, sad and very happy。 Such a good read can’t wait until a touch of malice arrives in the post。 I honestly could of read this in a day if I had to spare time!

I actually loved this one more than A Touch of Darkness?!? Persephone’s character development — wow。 Sephy’s internal struggles with herself are always so relatable, especially in terms of dealing with a completely over dramatic and overbearing mother like Demeter。 This book had wonderfully spicy scenes that were not overwhelming in frequency! The drama was thrilling and suspenseful。 I can see Hermes and Thanatos becoming two of my favourite characters in this retelling。 Scarlett St。Clair is so I actually loved this one more than A Touch of Darkness?!? Even though I enjoyed the overall story, I wonder if St。 Clair is aware there is more to a romance story than just really steamy smut。 I would have enjoyed the story just as much, if not a little more if I wasn’t so focused on If you prefer a book that is more smut than an actual storyline, this book is for you。 I could probably count on one hand the amount of times Hades and Persephone were together and *not* fucking each other’s brains out。 Hell, they even got engaged while he was inside her? This book was a bit meh, no character development, only drama。 Persephones insecurities keep killing the vibe time and time again。 The way she keeps jumping to conclusions is kind of annoying。

This book is not as good as the first one。 In this one, i hate Persephone so much。 She is selfish, immature and she puts Hades in so much pain。 Hate her so much。 However, I love Hades。 He is still that amazing man I knew from the first book。 He does everything right。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Oh Scarlett, you did Persephone a little dirty in this one。。。How many times had Persephone and Hades' lips "collided", it was too many to count。 Surely another verb exists in the English language to account for such ferocious kissing but I digress。 The story felt a bit rushed with this book。 Persephone's struggle between living her mortal life and her life as a goddess was evident but frustrating because the obvious choice is there right in front of her。 I feel as though the death of her best fr Oh Scarlett, you did Persephone a little dirty in this one。。。How many times had Persephone and Hades' lips "collided", it was too many to count。 Surely another verb exists in the English language to account for such ferocious kissing but I digress。 The story felt a bit rushed with this book。 Persephone's struggle between living her mortal life and her life as a goddess was evident but frustrating because the obvious choice is there right in front of her。 I feel as though the death of her best friend was merely there for Persephone's own character development not for plot progression。 For someone who was struggling with the emotion of grief, she sure as hell (pardon the pun) didn't mind receiving constant sexual relief from Hades。 I found Persephone to be extremely petulant throughout this entire book and her treatment of her boss, Demetri to be extremely unjustified。 Also, while we're on the topic of Demetri, her employment and New Athens News always dumbfounded me。 How can a fresh-out-of-university-graduate be given the job of investigative journalist and then act like a total cow when she's given administrative duties? Rant over。 Apart from these obvious issues, the book delivered what it needed to which was romance coupled with consistent toxic communication resolved in passionate love making。 Can't be mad if this is what we signed up for。 。。。more

This book was pretty aggravating。 Persephone just looks for problems this whole book and screws everything up for no reason。 The problems were solved way too quickly。 Still has me wanting to read the next book though

Jeanne

I like this more than the first novel。 I especially enjoy Persephone’s character development and the expansion of the world building。 I’m fascinated by this contemporary world built on Ancient Greek religion and culture。 The series pulled me in with the hot sex and compelling romance, but the characters and world have got me hooked。 On to the next book。

She did the later。 If authors cannot commit to writing pain, then do not write pain。 This is not to say that Persephone should have been assaulted but to say that the Pirithous storyline would have been strikingly more emphatic and meaningful had he hurt persephone for longer than two paragraphs。 >3。 PACING I did not enjoy the pacing of this book as much as I enjoyed TOD。 This book is obviously more character driven than it is plot driven, but we are constantly and consistently reminded of the threat that Demeter faces only to have about 3 paragraphs of her page time in the last 75 pages。 we are also given hints that  Pirithous is a sicko, only for his motives to be executed and and his arc to be resolves in less than two pages。 4。 THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSEPHONE AND HADES I loved their relationship in this book! It was real, and it felt that way too。 A man who has made decisions alone for his entire life and is incapable of understanding that being in a relationship means making decisions together and a woman so longing for her autonomy, agency, and decisions to be respected who fall in love and work through their problems together? AMAZING。 5。 SIDE NOTES- Elias。 I love his character。 I have not read TOM yet, but as someone who is not fond of the pregnancy trope, I very much hope that our MC's adopt a child instead of having a biological child。 It's personal preference, but I love that Elias' character opens that door。 - the love I have for Hecate is unmatched 。。。more
